Who can use Rolemate

Rolemate is for users 16 and older. This aligns with the GDPR digital consent age. No parental consent is required for any EU member state at or above 16. In the US, COPPA prohibits collecting data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If we learn we have collected data from someone under 16, we will delete it immediately. If you believe this has happened, email team@rolemateapp.com.

02

What we collect

Rolemate collects only the data you actively connect or upload. That means: your GitHub account (public repos, commit history, languages, read-only), your LinkedIn account if you connect it (profile, experience, connections, read-only), any résumés or documents you choose to upload, and the text of your conversations within Rolemate.

We do not purchase, scrape, or enrich your profile with third-party data brokers.

03

How we use it

Your data is used exclusively to generate your Signal Score, surface relevant events, rank people to meet, and draft outreach messages. Rolemate uses AI to produce your Signal Score from your public GitHub data.

We do not train any model on your repos, your documents, or your conversations. Your data is not used to improve any third-party model and is never shown to other users.

04

Automated decisions

Your Signal Score is produced entirely by AI: five specialist models analyze your public GitHub work and a synthesis model produces the final score. The result is a percentile ranking. Rolemate never makes or enforces a hiring decision; that responsibility stays with the employer.

Under GDPR Article 22, you have the right to request human review of your score, to contest it, and to receive a plain-English explanation of how it was produced. Email team@rolemateapp.com to exercise this right.

Employers using Rolemate’s score in New York City hiring must conduct a bias audit and provide candidate notice under NYC Local Law 144. We provide audit-ready methodology documentation and versioned score snapshots to support their compliance.

Rolemate is building toward EU AI Act high-risk controls (Annex III, employment screening) ahead of the December 2027 deadline. We version every scoring model and log the evidence behind each score, so an independent bias audit can be run against a reproducible record.

05

Event intelligence

Rolemate’s event discovery surfaces publicly available event listings from multiple platforms and ranks them by relevance to your Signal profile and location. Rolemate does not create accounts, scrape private data, or act on your behalf on any external platform. It centralizes publicly accessible event information to save you time.

06

What we share

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share the minimum necessary to deliver the product:

  • Public GitHub data → our AI provider (Signal Score generation)
  • Database rows → our hosting provider
  • Auth tokens → our authentication provider

For hiring teams using Rolemate for Business, a candidate’s Signal Score and trust-layer summary are shared only if the candidate opts in to be discoverable. Hiring managers never see raw repo data, only the synthesized score and summary.

07

How long we keep it

Your Signal Score and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated scores, documents, and conversation history are removed immediately.

If you disconnect GitHub or LinkedIn without deleting your account, your access token is revoked immediately and the synced data is deleted within 30 days.

Anonymous preview scores (run without an account on /proof) are never stored. They exist only in your browser tab and are gone when you close it.

GitHub API fetch logs used to generate your score are retained for 90 days for debugging purposes, then deleted.

08

Your controls

You can disconnect GitHub or LinkedIn at any time from your settings page. This revokes our access token and schedules deletion of the synced data within 30 days.

You can delete your Rolemate account entirely from settings. This removes your Signal Score, event history, outreach drafts, documents, and conversations immediately.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have the standard rights to access, correct, port, restrict, or erase your data. California residents may also opt out of use of their data in automated employment scoring at any time. Email team@rolemateapp.com to exercise any of these rights.

09

International transfers

Rolemate is based in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the lawful mechanism for those transfers. You can request a copy of the applicable SCCs by emailing team@rolemateapp.com.
